MLA withdraws resignation after voting in Punjab: Punjab govt accepts registration, Angural to move court
Chandigarh: Sheetal Angural, former MLA from Jalandhar West in Punjab, has suffered a major setback. Assembly Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwa has accepted his resignation.
In response, the MLA now says he will challenge this decision and go to court. He plans to file a petition in the Punjab and Haryana High Court against this decision.
Earlier today, at around 11:30 am, he went to meet the Speaker. However, the Speaker was not present in the Assembly, so the MLA had to return after waiting for some time. He intended to present his side to the Speaker.
While returning, Angural said, “I went to meet the Speaker, but he was not present in the Assembly. I met with his secretary instead.”
“The Speaker is currently in Delhi, which is why he could not be found. I have been called again on June 11 at 11 am. I have submitted the letter withdrawing my resignation to the secretary and have received a receipt for it,” he said.
