Moosewala murder case witness identifies six accused

Chandigarh: Gurpreet Singh, one of the two key witnesses in the murder case of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, today identified six accused, including four shooters, in a lower court in Mansa, while a total of seven accused were produced before the court. This witness was riding in the Thar at the time of Moosewala’s murder.

Moosewala was shot dead by six shooters on May 29, 2022, when he was on his way to Jawaharke from village Musa with two of his friends. Gurwinder Singh and Gurpreet Singh were accompanying Moosewala on the occasion and were also shot in the incident.

During the last hearing, an application was filed by Gurpreet Singh of the prosecution to produce the accused so that he could identify them. The faces of the accused were not clearly visible when they were produced through video conferencing. Subsequently, the Punjab Police produced seven accused — Priyavart Fauji, Ankit Sersa, Deepak Mundi, Kashish alias Kuldeep, Sandeep Singh alias Kekra, Keshav and Manpreet Singh alias Mani Raia — lodged in different jails before the trial court today.

Witness Gurpreet Singh today identified the four shooters – Priyavart Fauji, Ankit Sersa, Deepak Mundi and Kashish alias Kuldeep. The eyewitnesses also identified Sandeep Kekra and Keshav.
