MP Sahni seeks financial assistance for Punjab from Centre

New Delhi: Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha, Dr Vikramjit Singh Sahni has demanded financial assistance of 50 years of interest-free loan to Punjab under the central government scheme.

He also raise issues of the rural development fee, market development fund and long-pending arrears under the National Health Mission in cold storage and urged the Centre to release it on priority as the financial condition of the state was very alarming.

Dr. Sahni demanded immediate release of the Rs 1,837 crore special assistance withheld by the Centre for capital investment, saying it was the responsibility of the Centre to save Punjab from the financial crisis.
