Nangal SDM suspended for dereliction of duty
Rupnagar News: The Punjab government has suspended Udaideep Singh Sidhu, SDM of Nangal sub-division of Rupnagar district, for showing irresponsible behaviour towards duty.
During the period of suspension, the headquarters of the officer shall be Chandigarh and during the period of suspension, only subsistence allowance will be available as per the provisions contained under Rule 7.2 of Part-I of the Punjab Civil Services Rules.
The suspension orders have been issued by Chief Secretary Punjab Anurag Verma on the basis of a report submitted by deputy commissioner Rupnagar.
The reason for the suspension of the SDM has been stated to be sudden absence in the presence of senior officers of district Rupnagar during the emergency situation of floods at Sub Division Nangal, no coordination with the higher authorities and irresponsible attitude in his duty.
