New regional party Akali Dal (Waris of Punjab) announced at political conference

Chandigarh: A new provincial political party, Akali Dal (Waris Punjab De), was announced during a political conference organized by Lok Sabha member Amritpal Singh’s team on the occasion of Mela Maghi. The event, held at Green Sea Resorts on Bathinda Road, drew a large gathering of supporters.

Faridkot MP Sarbjeet Singh Khalsa, Amritpal Singh’s father Tarsem Singh, and other speakers addressed the audience.

A 15-point resolution was passed, declaring Bhai Amritpal Singh Khalsa, currently imprisoned in Dibrugarh jail, as the party’s chief sewadar.

A five-member executive committee was also formed, including Tarsem Singh, MP Sarbjeet Singh Khalsa, Amarjit Singh, Harbhajan Singh Tur, and Surjit Singh, to oversee party affairs until a president is elected.

The party announced several committees: a seven-member team for new recruitment and a five-member group to draft the party’s constitution and agenda, with plans to complete the framework by Baisakhi.

The party’s objectives, as outlined in the resolution, include safeguarding the Miri-Piri principle of Sri Akal Takht, supporting the release of Bandi Singhs, advocating for farmers’ rights, and reviving the Anandpur Sahib resolution.

It also aims to curb interference from non-Punjabi elements in education, counter anti-Punjab activities, and protect the state’s natural resources.
