NIA raids 15 locations in Punjab, Haryana in connection with to attack on Indian Embassy in San Francisco

New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted raids at 15 locations in Punjab and Haryana on Wednesday. These raids are believed to be connected to the attack by Khalistani supporters on the Indian consulate in San Francisco.
In Punjab, raids were carried out at the house of an associate of Pro-Khalistan supporter Amritpal Singh. Simultaneously, investigations took place at a sweet shop owner’s premises in Kurukshetra, Haryana. As of now, the NIA has not officially released any information regarding the raids.
In Kurukshetra, a raid was conducted on suspicion of Khalistani funding along Salarpur Road. The NIA team arrived at a sweet shop there at 6 am and questioned the owner for 5 hours before returning to Delhi.
Another raid occurred in Bullewal village, Gurdaspur, Punjab, where the NIA team inspected Kirpal Singh’s house. Sources indicate Kirpal Singh’s association with Amritpal Singh, currently incarcerated in Dibrugarh jail, Assam.
On Wednesday morning, the investigative agency raided Gurlabh Singh’s house in Jhandewala village, Chadik, Moga. Local police accompanied the NIA team. Harpreet Kaur, Gurlabh Singh’s wife, was questioned for about two and a half hours. The agency has summoned him to Chandigarh on November 24.
