No grudge against Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann: Banwarilal Purohit
Chandigarh: Punjab Governor and UT Administrator Banwari Lal Purohit stated that he harbors no grievances against Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and is leaving his position happily. He made this announcement during his farewell speech at the Punjab Raj Bhawan.
Purohit addressed media reports about alleged differences between him and the Chief Minister, clarifying that there was no such discord. While minor disagreements may have occurred once or twice, they held no ill feelings towards each other. He emphasized that his resignation was not due to any frustration with the Chief Minister but was made with the consent of his family, as he has turned 84 years old and wishes to spend more time with them.
Purohit explained that he refrained from using the state government’s helicopter for specific reasons. Instead, he preferred traveling by road to better understand the culture of the state. He highlighted the importance of coordination between cabinet ministers and state officials, stating that such collaboration is essential for the development of the state. He urged ministers to listen to the officials and provide accurate information.
Purohit also called on the people of Punjab to unite in the fight against drugs. He expressed confidence that the people of Punjab, known for their generosity, would undoubtedly succeed in this battle.
