Chairperson Red Cross Hospital Welfare Section Visits Old Age Home

Reviews facilities provided to elderly residents

Jalandhar: Chairperson Red Cross Hospital Welfare Section, Jalandhar, Baby Sabharwal, wife of Jalandhar Divisional Commissioner, today visited the Old Age Home run by the District Red Cross Society, as well as the School for the Deaf and Prayas School. 

Mrs. Sabharwal inspected the rooms, common room, kitchen, and mess at the Old Age Home and expressed satisfaction with the facilities provided to the elderly residents. She spoke to the elderly about their health and distributed fruits to them. In her conversation with the staff, she gathered detailed information about the number of residents, their living conditions, regular medical checkups, and more. She wished the elderly a happy life and assured them of her full support.

She also visited the Red Cross School for the Deaf, where she inquired about the hostel, classrooms, and kitchen facilities. She encouraged the staff to work diligently for the welfare of the children. The students of the school also presented a performance on the occasion.

Later, Mrs. Sabharwal spent time with the special needs children at Prayas School. She discussed the vocational classes conducted for the children with the staff and distributed gifts to the children from both the Red Cross School for the Deaf and Prayas School.
