Chandigarh: A meeting of the Punjab Cabinet was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, in which several important decisions were taken. The most important and major decision has been taken to hold panchayat elections in Punjab without the election symbol of any political party.
The Punjab Cabinet has approved the amendment to Section 12 of the Punjab Panchayati Raj Act. With this amendment, no candidate will be able to contest the panchayat elections in Punjab on the election symbol of any political party.
