Partap Singh Bajwa appears before cyber crime police in Mohali over ‘bombs’ remark

Mohali: Leader of Opposition in the Punjab Assembly and senior Congress leader Partap Singh Bajwa appeared before the Cyber Crime Police Station in Phase-7, Mohali, on Monday and joined the ongoing investigation into his recent “statement about the bombs”.

Bajwa arrived at the police station around 2.26 pm, accompanied by senior Congress leaders and a large number of party workers. Supporters raised slogans in his favour as his convoy reached the premises.

On Sunday, Mohali SP Harbir Singh Atwal had issued a summon asking Bajwa to appear before the cyber crime wing by 12 noon on Monday. However, Bajwa had sought a one-day extension through his lawyer, Pardeep Singh Virk, citing scheduling issues. The police granted the request, and Bajwa presented himself for questioning today.

The investigation pertains to remarks made by Bajwa that allegedly referenced bombs, prompting scrutiny by cyber crime officials.
