PDA Cracks Down on Unauthorized Colonies

Patiala News: In a significant move to curb unauthorized construction and protect public investments, the Patiala Development Authority (PDA) today demolished unauthorized colonies in Village Dhammomajra and Pasiana, Tehsil and District Patiala. These colonies were found to be in violation of the Punjab Apartment and Property Regulation Act, 1995.

Divulging details of the action, Chief Administrator of PDA Patiala, Manisha Rana, stated, “We are committed to taking stringent action against any unauthorized colonies developed within the jurisdiction of PDA, Patiala. This step is crucial to safeguard public investments and ensure that development in the district is properly regulated.”

Further elaborating on the ongoing efforts, Additional Chief Administrator of PDA, Jashanpreet Kaur Gill, noted that several other colonizers have been issued notices for developing unauthorized colonies. “If they fail to respond or submit the necessary documents within the notice period, similar action will be initiated against them, including the registration of FIRs under the Punjab Apartment and Property Regulation Act, 1995,” she added.

The demolition drive was carried out under the supervision of District Town Planner Seema Kaushal, Assistant Town Planner Gurinder Singh, Sub Divisional Engineer Rajeev Kumar, Sub Divisional Engineer Gurpreet Singh, and Junior Engineers Sanjeev Kumar and Gurpyar Singh.

The PDA has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring planned and lawful development across Patiala, warning that any further unauthorized constructions will face strict legal consequences.
