Police halt Harrdy Sandhu’s concert in Chandigarh over false permission claims
Chandigarh: Police halted a concert by popular Punjabi singer Harrdy Sandhu at the Sector 34 fairground on Saturday evening, citing a lack of permission. However, an investigation later revealed that the event had the necessary approvals.
Between 5:30 pm and 6 pm, Sector 34 SHO and DSP Jaswinder Singh arrived with a police team and stopped the performance, acting on information that the event was being held without authorization. It remains unclear who provided the false report.
Sandhu was briefly taken in for questioning, sparking resentment among fans. However, after verifying the permissions, authorities allowed the singer to resume his performance, restoring normalcy at the venue.
The incident highlights the need for better coordination between departments to prevent such disruptions.
