Postmortem of Shubhkaran not done even after 6 days, Farmers adamant on registering FIR
Chandigarh: Even after six days, no postmortem or funeral has been conducted for Shubhkaran Singh, a young farmer who was killed in the incident at the Khanauri border in Punjab-Haryana.
Farmer leaders have met with the administration and police multiple times during this period. Now, the farmers have initiated protests, demanding the immediate conduct of Shubhkaran’s postmortem for an indefinite period.
According to the received information, farmer leader Kaka Singh Kotda, who is leading the front at the Khanauri border, has once again engaged with the police administration recently. The farmers insist that the Punjab Police file an FIR regarding Shubhkaran’s death. Additionally, farmers are expressing their frustration towards Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
Kaka Singh Kotda states that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had promised to provide Rs 1 crore in compensation for Shubhkaran’s death, offer employment to his younger sister, and ensure appropriate action against the culprits. Even if CM Bhagwant Mann did not fulfill the promise of Rs 1 crore, Punjab’s social organizations would have raised the funds. However, the promise of taking action has not been fulfilled yet.
