Reviews progress of Lamma Pind-Jandu Singha road four-laning project

Jalandhar: Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal today inspected the ongoing four-laning work of the Lamma Pind-Jandu Singha Road to review its progress. Dr. Aggarwal directed the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) to shift all electric poles by the first week of October to ensure the timely completion of the project. Additionally, he instructed the officials of Jalandhar Municipal Corporation to complete the remaining work of laying rainwater pipes within the next 15 days.

Highlighting the importance of this project, Dr. Aggarwal stated that the road is crucial for a large number of commuters traveling between Jalandhar and Hoshiarpur. He urged the Public Works Department (PWD) officials to accelerate the pace of construction work to ensure the project’s early completion. The Deputy Commissioner also directed the concerned authorities to flush out rainwater from the road to keep it motorable during rains and to fill the potholes to improve the driving conditions.

The four-laning of this five-kilometer stretch is being carried out at a cost of Rs. 11.80 crore. Dr. Aggarwal emphasized that the completion of this project will significantly benefit commuters between Hoshiarpur and Jalandhar, as it will provide a direct route without the need to detour through Ramamandi. The Deputy Commissioner’s directives aim to expedite the project, bringing much-needed relief to daily travelers and improving the overall traffic flow in the region.
