Punjab E News: The fourth (budget) session of the 16th Punjab Vidhan Sabha has been concluded on November 15 as per the order of the Punjab Governor. The budget session was adjourned indefinitely by the Assembly Speaker after a meeting that ended on October 20. “The session has been convened in exercise of the powers conferred by the Governor in accordance with sub-clause (a) of clause (2) of Article 174 of the Constitution of India,” an official spokesman said.
Interestingly, this is Punjab’s first budget session which continued for eight-and-a-half months. The budget session of the state assembly was convened from March 3 to 24 this year, which was adjourned indefinitely on March 24 and was called on June 19 and 20 as an extended session, which was withheld by the governor as illegal.
