Punjab BJP leader Jagmohan Singh Raju resigns, cites organisational irregularities
Chandigarh: Punjab BJP unit general secretary Jagmohan Singh Raju has resigned from his post, citing serious organisational irregularities and expressing strong resentment against Amritsar district BJP president Harvinder Singh Sandhu.
Raju, a former bureaucrat and the BJP’s candidate from Amritsar East in the 2022 Assembly elections, submitted a detailed four-page resignation letter to the party. In the letter, he levelled serious allegations against several state-level office-bearers, accusing them of violating party norms and overstepping their authority.
He specifically named BJP’s organising general secretary Srivastava and Amritsar district president Sandhu, alleging they acted beyond their official rights and disregarded the party’s organisational structure.
Raju’s resignation is expected to cause unease within the Punjab unit of the BJP, as the party attempts to expand its influence in the state.
