Punjab Cabinet decisions: 10.77 lakh cut-off cards restored for free ration, new scheme for teacher transfers
Chandigarh: The Punjab government has decided to reinstate 10.77 lakh cards that were excluded from the food security scheme. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, while providing details about today’s cabinet meeting, announced that these beneficiaries will receive free ration starting this month.
Additionally, the Cabinet has approved a new scheme to streamline the transfer of school teachers. Mann mentioned that Chief Minister’s Yogashalas will now be extended to 15 new cities.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister shared that the pension for widows of defence personnel killed during operations has been raised from Rs 6,000 to Rs 10,000 per month. The Angel scheme is scheduled to launch on January 27.
The Cabinet has also endorsed JPS Aulakh’s name as the chairman of PPSC, and the file will be forwarded to the governor for approval. Looking ahead to 2024, the Chief Minister expressed confidence that Punjab would make history by allocating all Lok Sabha seats to the Aam Aadmi Party, ruling out any alliance with the Congress in the state.
