Punjab CM announces to bear expenses of damaged wheat crop after Centre imposes value cut
Chandigarh: In a big relief to farmers, facing the brunt of inclement weather, the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Wednesday announced that the state government will bear the expenses of damaged wheat crop after Centre imposes value cut.
The Union government relaxed the limit of shrivelled and broken grains up to 18 per cent against the existing norm of 6 per cent.
“The Punjab government will bear the cost of the cut imposed by the Central Government in the price of wheat due to the moisture in the grain and the small grain of the grain. Farmers will not be allowed to face any kind of problem. We stand by us in every difficult time,” CM Mann said.
