Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann orders probe into attack on Sukhbir Badal

Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Wednesday condemned the attack on Shiromani Akali Dal leader Sukhbir Singh Badal and announced an inquiry into the incident.

The Chief Minister disclosed this through a post on his official account on X (formerly Twitter).

In his statement, Mann commended the Punjab Police for their swift action in apprehending the attacker.

Writing in Punjabi and Hindi, he said, “Punjab Police prevented a major incident today. Their promptness thwarted a conspiracy aimed at defaming Punjab and Punjabis. The police deserve praise for their success in arresting the attacker on the spot.”

The incident, which occurred near Sri Darbar Sahib, has raised concerns about law and order in the state. Further investigation into the attack is underway.
