Punjab CM gives over 58 ambulances to health department, denies rumours of his wife contesting elections
Chandigarh: In order to provide better health facilities to the people of Punjab, the Health Department has received 58 new ambulances today. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann flagged them off from his residence in Chandigarh. These ambulances are equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, bringing the total number of ambulances in the state to 325.
These ambulances will reach people in need within fifteen minutes in urban areas and twenty minutes in rural areas. They have been built at a cost of Rs 14 crore and will provide free services to the people.
On the other hand, when reporters asked him about his wife, Gurpreet Kaur, contesting the by-election, he said that campaigning does not mean that you are contesting. He added, “There is no such intention right now. Campaigning does not mean joining politics. My family and I are always present in the service of the people. I am taking over the reins of Punjab, and my family stands strong.” Recently, the CM’s wife campaigned in the Jalandhar by-election.
He also said, “Mrs. Kejriwal is campaigning in Haryana. That doesn’t mean she is contesting elections. Our family connects directly with people.” He said that he will continue to raise his voice for the rights of Punjab.
