Punjab CM’s wife Dr Gurpreet Kaur Mann visits 553-year-old Shiva temple on Maha Shivratri
Chandigarh: Dr Gurpreet Kaur Mann, wife of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, visited the 553-year-old Shiva temple in Payal on the occasion of Maha Shivratri. Arriving at 4 pm, she performed jalabhishek at the Shivling and prayed for Punjab’s prosperity.
Dr Mann shared that she had long wished to visit the temple and had discussed the visit multiple times with Aam Aadmi Party’s Payal MLA Manvinder Singh Gyaspura. After the darshan, she expressed a sense of spiritual peace and also interacted with women devotees present at the temple.
Meanwhile, Khanna SSP and Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains’ wife, Dr Jyoti Yadav, visited the Saraswati temple on GT Road.
She said that Shivratri celebrations were taking place in 88 temples across Police District Khanna, with the ancient temples of Chahalan and Payal in Samrala drawing the largest crowds. Police have implemented tight security measures at all temples.
