Punjab E News: A case of holding the panchayat secretary hostage by farmers has come to light in Chak Khuranj of Jalalabad.

It is being told that the officials had gone to verify the land of the farmer who burnt the stubble. Where the B.K.U. Ekta Ugrahan surrounded the officials.

Farmers led by BKU held hostage and were not released even after several hours.

Following assurances by DSP Atul Soni and Tehsildar Jaspal Singh Brar that action would not be taken against them, they released officials on Tuesday night. Meanwhile, the farmers also staged a sit-in on the road and protested against the government.
