Punjab government cuts security cover of Sushil Rinku
Chandigarh: The security cover of former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Lok Sabha MP from Jalandhar, Sushil Kumar Rinku, and former MLA from Jalandhar West, Sheetal Angural, has been downgraded.
Punjab Police commandos deployed for Rinku’s security have been called back, and the security vehicle (pilot jeep) has also been removed. The government is going to reduce security provided to former MLA Angural.
The Punjab government has significantly reduced MP Sushil Rinku’s security cover after he left the Aam Aadmi Party and joined the BJP. Previously, four policemen and four specially trained commandos were assigned to Sushil Rinku’s security, but the government has withdrawn four commandos, with two already departed and the remaining two scheduled to depart today or by Monday.
Similarly, MLA Sheetal Angural’s security will also be downscaled soon, despite demands from the BJP to increase security for both of them from the Election Commission.
