Punjab Government organise State level function at Malout to celebrate International Divyang Diwas on December 3
Chandigarh: Punjab government to celebrate International Divyang Diwas as a state level function on 3rd December at Malout (District Sri Muktsar Sahib). The Social Security, Women and Child Development Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur will be the chief guest on this occasion.
Divulging details in this regard, Madhvi Kataria, Director of Social Security, Women and Child Development department said that the International Divyang Diwas will be celebrated in all the districts of the state and the state level function is organised at Malout on December 3. She said that to enable the lives of the disabled persons the Punjab government is also going to organize a camp for providing bank loans in Malout (Sri Muktsar Sahib), Sangrur, Mansa and Barnala districts on this day.
She further said that the Punjab government led by the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is committed for the welfare of the disabled persons of the state. ‘The disabled people of Punjab will be honored during the state level function and 90 tricycles, 29 wheelchairs, 16 hearing aids, 9 walking sticks, 7 smart canes, cerebral palsy chairs and 78 crutches will be distributed to a total of 158 beneficiaries at a cost of Rs 18.63 lakh, added Director of Social Security, Punjab.
Institutions/organizations working in the field of welfare of disabled persons will also participate during the state level function and district level functions.
