Punjab government school principal offers free air travel to students securing positions in Board exam merit list

Punjab E News: The principal of a government school in Punjab’s Ferozepur district had made an inspiring announcement for the students that whenever the student of his school comes in the merit list of the board, he will provide them free of cost flying anywhere in India.
He had made this announcement because the students of this school did not appear in the merit list despite the passage of so many years and most of the students here belonged to the poor section.
It is through this inspirational message from Rakesh Sharma, principal of Shaheed Gurdas Ram Memorial Government Senior Secondary School (Girls) in Zira, Ferozepur, that the students have made a big mark.
Four students from here have appeared in the merit list of state board examinations after a gap of 12 years. After this, the principal has fulfilled the promise of air travel.
According to principal Rakesh Sharma, the students of class 10 th and 12th of this school were not making it to the merit list of punjab school education board examinations for the last 12 years. He announced one day at the school’s prayer meeting that if any student of class 10 or 12 secures a merit position in the board examinations, he can make air travel free to any destination of his choice in the country.

The principal said that two more students of this school will now fly from Amritsar to Delhi in the last week of January. These students will visit Rashtrapati Bhavan, Red Fort and other places.
