Punjab Governor to visit border areas today, to visit five districts
Chandigarh: Punjab Governor Banwari Lal Purohit will begin a two-day visit to the Punjab border area from today. In this regard, information has already been given to Punjab Chief Secretary Vijay Kumar Janjua and DGP Gaurav Yadav through a letter from the Governor House.
Governor B L Purohit will visit Pathankot, Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Ferozepur and Fazilka on his second visit to the border area this time. He will also talk to the families living near the border area and know the problems. Also, they will get information about security preparations on the border and other problems including mining activities.
Punjab Chief Secretary V K Janjua is also expected to accompany the Governor. In some places, there is also a possibility of staying with DGP Punjab.
Questions raised on AAP
Governor B L Purohit had also visited the border areas of Punjab about four months ago. During that time, he raised many questions on the Mann government of Punjab. He said that now drugs have reached schools too.
The situation was such that the drug was available like other items found at the general store in the villages. He also expressed his helplessness of not being able to do anything in this regard as children also talked about committing thefts by getting caught in the clutches of the drug mafia.
