Punjab govt declares March 31 a holiday for Eid, banks to remain open
Chandigarh: The Punjab government has declared a state-wide holiday on March 31 for Eid ul Fitr. Schools, colleges, offices, and other educational institutions will remain closed. With March 30 being a Sunday, residents will have two consecutive holidays.
However, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has instructed banks to remain open on March 31 despite the festival. This decision applies to all banks handling government transactions to ensure the smooth settlement of financial year 2024-25 transactions.
