Chandigarh: Elections to the Panchayat Samiti and Zila Parishads in Punjab will be conducted before May 31, according to the Election Commission.

The commission announced that full preparations are underway, and the election dates will be set considering the schedule of board examinations and wheat procurement for the rabi season.

Punjab has 153 Panchayat Samitis and 23 Zila Parishads. The official notification confirmed that the election timeline will accommodate key state activities to ensure a smooth voting process.
