Punjab Police to strengthen security at Indo-Pak border with CCTV cameras
Amritsar: Punjab Police Special DGP Arpit Shukla has announced plans to enhance security along the Indo-Pak border.
During a meeting with SSPs of border districts and the Police Commissioner of Amritsar, Shukla revealed that a second line of defense has been established on the outskirts.
To bolster surveillance, CCTV cameras are being installed in border areas at a cost of Rs 30 crore.
Additionally, a special strategy has been formulated to curb the smuggling of narcotics and weapons from Pakistan.
Addressing recent attacks on police stations, Shukla said that forces in the neighbouring country and anti-national elements were attempting to spread terror.
He affirmed that the Punjab Police would continue to confront these threats with determination.
