Punjab Roadways/Punbus/PRTC Contract Workers’ Union hold protest against Government

Chandigarh: On the call of Punjab Roadways/Punbus/PRTC Contract Workers Union Punjab, gate rallies were organised outside Bathinda and Hoshiarpur depots to press for the long pending demands of the contractual employees of Punbus and PRTC at Bathinda. The protesters raised slogans against the Transport Department of Punjab.

The protesters say that the contract and outsourcing workers of Punbus and PRTC are regularised.
The protesters say they have been working under contract for several years. The Punjab government is not convincing them nor is any new recruitment being taken out by the government which is being demanded by us again and again. “If our demands are not met by the government, then in the coming days, we will block the wheels of buses across Punjab,” he said. At the same time, the protesters of Hoshiarpur say that if our demands are not met by the government, then they will gherao CM Mann’s house soon.
