Punjab school education minister Harjot Bains greets teachers on national teachers day

Chandigarh: The Punjab School Education Minister Mr. Harjot Singh Bains has extended warm greetings to the teaching fraternity on the eve of National Teachers’ Day, urging them to make all out efforts to inculcate the noble qualities of discipline, righteousness, honesty, integrity, dedication and good conduct in the students to enable them to become an ideal citizens of the society.

In a message issued here today, the School Education Minister said that this magnificent day coincides with the birth anniversary of former President of India late Dr. Sarvpalli Radha Krishnan an eminent academician, statesman and a great philosopher whose contribution in various fields especially in revamping the education system was unprecedented.

The cabinet Minister said teachers render invaluable service in inculcating discipline among students and imparting knowledge to them for making them capable in their respective fields. The importance of teachers could be seen from the fact that they are placed next only to parents.

While citing Bharat Ratna Baba Saheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar say, “Education is what makes a person fearless, teaches him the lesson of unity, makes him aware of his rights and inspires him to struggle for his rights.” and former President of India Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam utterance, “Teaching is a very noble profession that shapes the character, caliber, and future of an individual”,

Mr. Bains also appreciated the work of the teachers in shaping the minds of the pupils for future endeavors and imparting value-based education to them.

Impressing upon the teachers to rise on this occasion to transform the destiny of students especially from the underprivileged sections of society by imbibing a spirit of nationalism and inculcating the moral values, Mr. Bains said that the teachers were role models for the students to equip them for boldly facing odd challenges besides ensuring a bright future of our nation.
