37 Government schools witness infra boost at Rs. 2.90 crore in Jalandhar District
Jalandhar News: Punjab Horticulture and Defence Welfare Minister Mohinder Bhagat today dedicated development works worth Rs. 26.78 lakh at Government Senior Secondary and Government Primary School Bhargav Camp Jalandhar city. Addressing the gathering, the Minister said that the Punjab Government, under its flagship ‘Punjab Sikhiya Kranti’ initiative, dedicated development projects worth Rs 2.90 crore across 37 government schools in Jalandhar, giving a massive boost to educational infrastructure in the district.
This infrastructure revamp includes smart classrooms, digital learning system, science laboratories, sports tracks, digital learning systems, cluster rooms, boundary walls, and essential repair work. The Minister said that the Punjab Sikhiya Kranti will transform entire education system in the state by ensuring top class educational facilities to students. He said that Government schools have witnessed influx in enrollments with people admitting their children in these schools. The Cabinet Minister also announced a grant worth Rs. 10 lakh for new development projects, ensuring his unwavering support to further boost educational infrastructure.
He highlighted that under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Punjab’s education sector is undergoing a historic transformation. This initiative is setting new benchmarks, with government schools now matching the standards of private institutions. He further mentioned that there is no dearth of funds for strengthening school infrastructure.
He also reiterated Punjab Government’s commitment to creating world-class educational facilities for every child in the state, paving the way for a brighter and more empowered Punjab. Earlier, Children presented cultural events during the ceremony.
Meanwhile, MLAs Balkar Singh, Raman Arora, and Inderjit Kaur Mann also dedicated these projects across their respective assembly constituencies, while several other schools in the district also witnessed inauguration of upgraded facilities.
In Kartarpur constituency, MLA Balkar Singh dedicated infrastructure projects worth Rs 17.20 lakh at three government schools.
Similarly, MLA Raman Arora inaugurated projects costing Rs 1.10 crore while Nakodar, MLA Inderjit Kaur Mann dedicated projects worth Rs 17.37 lakh in Government Schools falling in her constituency.
