Punjab to introduce wellness tourism with modern resorts offering Ayurveda and naturopathy
Punjab E News: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is set to launch wellness tourism across the state, a move aimed at boosting tourism by establishing a network of modern wellness resorts based on traditional Indian medicine systems like naturopathy and Ayurveda.
Under Punjab’s new wellness tourism policy, these resorts will be classified into three categories—gold, silver, and bronze. Gold-category resorts will span approximately 10 acres, offering high-end in-house services and featuring at least 20 double bedrooms, along with amenities like swimming pools and recreational spaces. Silver resorts will be slightly smaller, with at least 10 double bedrooms, and bronze resorts will feature a minimum of 5 double bedrooms. All resorts will include ample open spaces for tourists.
The resorts will offer services such as spa treatments, yoga, meditation, Ayurveda, naturopathy, and skin care therapies, encouraging visitors to embrace a healthy lifestyle. Certified experts in Ayurveda, Unani medicine, and yoga will be on-site, providing a range of wellness experiences.
The initiative aligns with Chief Minister Mann’s broader goal of establishing Punjab as an international tourism destination by 2030. “Our government will leave no stone unturned to promote Punjab as a global tourism hub,” said Mann.
“Punjab’s rich heritage has fascinated people for centuries, and we’re committed to showcasing it to the world. Each village holds memorials dedicated to those who sacrificed for the nation, stories that need to be shared. With its unique geography and cultural wealth, Punjab is ready to reach new heights in tourism for the prosperity and happiness of its people.”
