Punjab’s decision after Centre’s letter: CM Mann, says won’t send Tableau in rejected category
The controversy surrounding Punjab’s exclusion from the Republic Day parade continues. Following the Ministry of Defense’s statement, CM Bhagwant Mann has stepped into the fray. ‘We understand how to honor the sacrifices of our martyrs—Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev Singh, Lala Lajpat Rai, Udham Singh, Mai Bhago, Kartar Singh Sarabha, Gadri Babe, and Maharaja Ranjit Singh,’ he stated. ‘We do not require BJP’s NOC in this matter. We won’t submit our tableau even under the rejected category. They all are our heroes, and we know how to pay tribute to them.”
Mann also disclosed a copy of the letter from the Ministry of Defense sent to the Punjab Government. The letter stated that the state’s tableau should be showcased at the Bharat Parv in Red Fort, New Delhi, from January 23 to January 31. The National Theatre Camp can be used to create the tableau, with tractors and trailers provided for the purpose. It’s worth noting that rejected states’ tableaux are exhibited here to acquaint people with these states.
