Punjab E News: Since Bhagwant Mann took office as Chief Minister, Punjab, an agriculturally rich state, has witnessed significant advancements. The Mann-led government has launched various initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of life for its residents. In agriculture, a state-of-the-art lab for soil testing has been established at the Citrus Estate in Hoshiarpur. Equipped with modern machinery, the lab analyzes micro-elements in soil, helping horticultural officers advise farmers on fertilizer usage based on detailed soil reports. If deficiencies are detected, corrective actions are recommended.
The lab has been widely beneficial, with over 30,000 farmers already utilizing its services. So far, it has tested 50,429 samples, including 40,289 soil, 4,164 field, 4,798 orchard, 371 compost, and 807 water samples. Farmers report improved crop health and yields thanks to these insights.
