Rain likely to lash Punjab till April 21; farmers worried

Punjab News: The weather is likely to change again in Punjab after continuously rising temperatures for the last one week. The Meteorological Department has predicted rain and strong winds from April 18 to 21. During this time, there may be potholes in many places.

The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert on April 18 and 19 and a yellow alert on April 20 and 21. Faridkot was the hottest city in the state with a maximum temperature of 42.7 degrees Celsius.
Manmohan Singh, director of the Meteorological Department, said that due to the western disturbance in the weather, rain and strong winds are likely to occur in the northern part of the state from Monday night itself. He has issued an orange alert in Punjab on April 18 and 19.
During this period, rain and winds with a speed of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour are likely to occur in Punjab, he said.
At the same time, there may be a stampede in some places. On April 20 and 21 also, moderate rain and 30 to 40 kmph at a few places in the state, the meT department director said.
He said that with the change in the weather, the temperature in the state may also drop by 5 to 6 degrees Celsius, due to which the people can get some relief.
On the other hand, the farmers are worried after getting information about the change in the weather again, although the harvesting work in Punjab is almost on the verge of completion, but the crop of the farmers is rolling under the open sky in the mandis.
