Repeated granting parole to Dera Sacha Sauda chief detrimental to law and order: Punjab

Chandigarh: The #Punjabgovernment has told the #HighCourt that repeated grant of parole to the #DeraSachaSauda chief, who is serving a #sentence of rape and murder, may lead to a #law and #order problem in the state.

The Punjab government’s response to the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee’s (#SGPC) #plea against grant of #parole to the #Derachief is contrary to the #Haryanagovernment’s reply to the plea. 
While supporting the dera chief’s parole, the Haryana government had told the Punjab and Haryana High Court that he does not fall under the definition of a dangerous #prisoner and he cannot be called a #serialkiller. He has also been convicted in two #murdercases.
The Dera chief was granted parole for 40 days on January 20. The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) had recently #challenged the #parole #order in the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
