Revenue Minister reviews special camp for mutation cases in Phillaur

Revenue Minister Bram Shankar Jimpa on Saturday said that Punjab government was making earnest efforts to make the functioning of the revenue department smooth and easy for facilitating the people.

      Expressing satisfaction over a special camp held in the Phillaur Tehsil complex to address the backlog of pending mutation cases, the minister said that the aim of the drive was to clear the backlog of mutations and serve the people.

      He said that reforms were being brought by the department to ensure hassle-free delivery of the services and minimize the inconvenience.

     Jimpa said that the Punjab government had also released Rs 175 crore for building new tehsil and sub-tehsil complexes and renovation of existing buildings. He categorically said that any negligence would not be tolerated and erring officers and employees would face action.

      He said that the revenue department had already issued a helpline number 8184900002 for filing complaints regarding the functioning. The NRIs can also register their complaints on 9464100168.

      The Revenue Minister said that the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann had recently launched ‘Bhagwant Mann Sarkar, Tuhade Dwaar’ scheme to provide doorstep delivery of 43 administrative services including certificates of birth and deaths, income, residence, caste, pensions, electricity bill payments and others. He said that the citizens could avail of the services by calling a helpline number 1076 and scheduling an appointment at their convenience.

       It may be mentioned here that special Camps organised at all Tehsil’s and sub tehsils in Jalandhar namely Jalandhar -1, Jalandhar -2, kartrapur , Bhogpur , Nakodar , Shahkot , Phillaur , nurmahal , Lohian , Adampur .

      Prominent amongst those present on the occasion included AAP leader Principal Prem Kumar, SDM Gursimran Singh Dhillon and others.
