Robbers loot Rs 40 lakh from HDFC Bank in Phagwara

Phagwara: Unidentified robbers looted around Rs 40 lakh from an HDFC Bank branch in Rehana Jattan village on the Phagwara-Hoshiarpur road on Friday afternoon.

According to preliminary information, the incident took place shortly after 3 pm when the robbers arrived in a car and entered the bank armed with weapons. They reportedly held the staff at gunpoint before fleeing with the cash.

Following the incident, senior police officials, including the SP and DSP, rushed to the spot. The area was cordoned off, and an investigation is underway.

Police are examining CCTV footage and have launched a search to trace the suspects.
