Rs 25 lakh looted from HDFC Bank
Amritsar: Five unidentified armed men looted Rs 25 lakh from HDFC Bank in Gopalpura village on the Amritsar-Pathankot road, police said on Wednesday. According to the information, five armed men entered the branch of HDFC Bank at Gopalpura village under Police Station Kathunangal and took the employees and customers of the bank hostage at the point of three pistols, closed the outer shutter of the bank, removed the CCTV camera and DVR installed inside the bank and fled with all the cash lying in the bank.
The five men were wearing masks. The three youths, who were carrying pistols, came on two motorcycles and stayed inside the bank for about 15 minutes. According to bank officials, the robbers took away around Rs 25 lakh, including the DVR of the cameras.
DSP Majitha and police rushed to the spot after the incident came to light. The incident is being investigated by the police.
