Ruckus in Parliament: ‘My grandfather Beant Singh sacrificed for India, not for Congress,’ Minister Bittu to MP Channi
New Delhi: The Lok Sabha was adjourned for 30 minutes during a scuffle between Punjab Congress MP Charanjit Singh Channi and BJP’s Ravneet Singh Bittu over some personal remarks.
Participating in the debate on the Union Budget, Channi referred to the killing of Bittu’s grandfather, former Punjab chief minister Beant Singh.
“Bittu ji, your grandfather was a martyr, but he died when you left the Congress.” This led to a war of words between Bittu and Channi.
Bittu and Channi responded to each other’s personal comments which led to a ruckus. “My grandfather Beant Singh died for the country and not for the Congress. “Channi is the most corrupt man in Punjab. “I wonder where he got the money to become the richest man in the state.”
