Sangrur court summons Congress president Kharge in defamation case

Punjab E News: A Sangrur court in Punjab has issued summons to Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge in a defamation case.
The summons were issued on a petition filed by Sangrur resident Hitesh Bhardwaj, founder of Hindu Suraksha Parishad Bajrang Dal Hind.
Hitesh Bhardwaj has filed a Rs 100 crore defamation suit against Kharge for his derogatory remarks against Bajrang Dal during the recently concluded Karnataka elections. The court of Civil Judge (Senior Division) Ramandeep Kaur of the local court summoned Kharge on July 10.
Petitioner Hitesh Bhardwaj has claimed that the Congress has compared Bajrang Dal with anti-national organizations. He also promised to ban Bajrang Dal after coming to power in Karnataka.
Bhardwaj said he approached the court on Thursday after he saw that on page 10 of the manifesto, the Congress compared Bajrang Dal with anti-national organisations and promised to ban the organisation if it wins the elections.
