“Sarkar Tuhade Dwar” scheme brings major benefits to Punjabis
43 government services now available from home
Punjab E News: In the past, residents of Punjab had to repeatedly visit government offices, often making dozen of trips for a single task. Prior to the current government’s formation, people frequently brought this issue to the attention of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann.
Upon taking office, CM Mann swiftly introduced the “Sarkar Tuhade Dwar” program to address this problem. Similar to popular food and delivery apps like Zomato or Swiggy, Punjab residents can now access 43 different government services from the comfort of their homes with just a phone call.
The state government has launched a toll-free number, 1076, through which citizens can book appointments for services. Residents are also informed about the necessary documents, fees, and other requirements for availing the services.
Key Services Offered Under the Program:
Birth and death certificates
Adding names to birth certificates
Correction of details in birth and death certificates
Income certificates
Land record verification
Certified copies of registered documents
Property boundary demarcation
NRI document verification
Police clearance certificates
Various caste certificates (SC, BC, OBC, General)
Senior citizen, widow, and disability pensions
Scholarship programs for beneficiary children
Marriage registration
Power bill payments, and more
Trained personnel, equipped with tablets, will visit homes or offices at the scheduled time to complete the required paperwork and issue receipts for services rendered.
This receipt enables citizens to track the status of their applications. The scheme not only brings convenience but also eliminates the role of intermediaries, ensuring transparency, efficiency, and citizen-focused governance.
