School bus driver arrested for raping Class 12 student

Chandigarh: A school bus driver has been arrested for allegedly raping a Class 12 student in Chandigarh, police said on Friday. The accused committed the crime by blackmailing the student by tampering with the photos.

Mohammad Razak (26) stalked the minor girl for some time and then tried to befriend her, which the student refused.

Later, he tampered with the pictures of the student and started blackmailing her, police said. The accused threatened to share the pictures on social media if the student did not meet his demands.

The accused raped the girl thrice at her house between May and July when her parents were out of the house.

The matter came to light when the parents saw the girl upset and asked the reason for it, police said. Following this, a complaint was lodged with the police and the accused was arrested, Deputy Superintendent of Police Jaspinder Singh said.
