Serving patients is the noblest service: Divisional Commissioner

Inspected the kitchen and pharmacy operated by the organization in the government hospital

Jalandhar, September 21: Divisional Commissioner Mr. Pradeep Sabharwal said that serving patients is the noblest service, and Shri Satya Sai Seva organisation’s contribution in this field is commendable. He was visiting the government hospital in Jalandhar along with Mr. Nimesh Pandya, All India President of Shri Satya Sai Seva organisation. During the visit, he inspected the kitchen and pharmacy and also served breakfast and porridge to the patients.

The Divisional Commissioner stated that our society needs such institutions that come forward for the welfare of humanity to assist those in need. He mentioned that his father, Mr. Prem Pal Sabharwal, served in Civil Hospital and ESI for nearly 40 years and now he too is taking special steps for the convenience of the patients. He informed that Shri Satya Sai Seva organisation is taking special measures for patients’ welfare in almost every district of India.

Inspecting the food quality, Mr. Sabharwal noted that the organization is running a kitchen in the Civil Hospital where around 300 patients and their attendants are provided free breakfast, porridge, and other meals by volunteers.

While reviewing the free medicines being provided to patients, the Divisional Commissioner mentioned that the organization is also running a pharmacy in the government hospital, where free medicines (including Erthoprotine for kidney patients and general medicines for others), as well as free medicines and glasses for eye patients, are provided. He also mentioned that two free ambulances are being operated by the organization in Jalandhar and Patti for the needy, and it also handles the cremation of unclaimed bodies. The organization has also provided an advanced machine worth Rs. 3.25 lakh for free blood tests in Civil Hospital Jalandhar. Additionally, the organization has provided AC labs, AC blood banks, and AC operation theaters, along with fans and water coolers for the hospital.

The Divisional Commissioner added that under the leadership of Mr. Nimesh Pandya, the organization has adopted 108 villages in the Majha border area, where they are conducting free medical camps and taking initiatives in education and sports for children. The organization runs special classes for children in these villages through its affiliated Bal Vikas Sanstha, and in these classes, children are inspired to become responsible citizens with moral values. Additionally, children are being introduced to the sport of Kabaddi, and competitions are organized at the village and block levels.

It is worth mentioning that Mr. Nimesh Pandya, All India President of Shri Satya Sai Seva organisation, National Coordinator Shri Koteswar Rao, Zonal President Dr. Sanjay Agarwal, and other distinguished personalities of the organization are on a two-day visit to Punjab. During this visit, Mr. Nimesh Pandya also held a state-level conference at the village Nadala, where the performance of district presidents of Punjab was reviewed to ensure that the service to humanity is carried out more diligently.

Prominent amongst those present on the occasion were Maninder Singh President Punjab, State Trustees President SK Punj and Tarvinder Soi, Surinder Mahajan Punjab sewa dal coordinator, SDM Jai Inder Singh, Civil Surgeon Dr. Jyoti Sharma, Secretary District Red Cross Society Inderpal Singh, Anil Sharma, Avinash Sharma, Rajinder Bhalla, Vijay Mahajan, Sanjeev Chadha, Akash Malhotra, Ram Sewak, Ramu, Vikas Kapoor, Jeeti Sahga and several other notable figures.
