SGPC decides not to withdraw Rajoana’s mercy plea
Punjab: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), after a meeting with panthic representatives, today decided not to withdraw the petition filed by Balwant Singh Rajoana seeking remission of his death sentence.
The SGPC has appealed to Rajoana to withdraw his decision to go on a hunger strike on December 5. Meanwhile, the SGPC will hold a protest in Delhi on December 20 over the issue and submit to the President the proformas filed by 26 lakh people regarding the remission of Rajoana’s death sentence.
