SGPC seeks ban on Kangana Ranaut’s film ‘Emergency’ in Punjab
Chandigarh: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has called for a ban on Kangana Ranaut’s upcoming film Emergency in Punjab, citing concerns over its portrayal of historical events.
SGPC president Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami has written to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, urging immediate action to prevent the film’s release in the state.
Dhami warned of strong opposition from the Sikh community if the film, scheduled for release on January 17, is not banned.
The controversy adds to the growing debate surrounding the film, which has already sparked mixed reactions nationwide.
