SGPC suspends 52 employees after detecting financial irregularities of Rs 1 crore
Punjab E News: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has suspended 52 employees of Sri Guru Ram Dass Langar Ghar after detecting financial irregularities of Rs 1 crore. These include several manager level officers and other lower officials.
Earlier, two store keepers were suspended in this case.
In the high-level probe, SGPC found them accountable for disposing of waste—stale chapatis, rice and other materials. The action was taken after the Flying Department of the SGPC submitted its inquiry report to its president Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami. According to SGPC officials, the issue of non-deposit of the amount of sale of items from community kitchen of the langar hall was from 2019 to 2021 during the Corona period. During this these items were sold but the amount was not deposited.
In this case, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had also put a question mark on the SGPC president.
