Sidhu Moosewala murder case: CIA in-charge, 10 others charged in connection with gangster Deepak Tinu’s escape
Chandigarh: Nearly two years after gangster Deepak alias Tinu, an accused in the Sidhu Moosewala murder case, escaped from the custody of CIA staff of Mansa police, the district court has framed charges against 10 accused, including the then CIA in-charge Pritpal Singh.
Charges have been framed against 10 persons under sections 216 (harbouring criminals) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and section 25 of the Arms Act.
Pritpal Singh, Deepak Tinu, Jatinder Kaur alias Jyoti, Kuldeep Singh Kohli, Rajveer Kajama, Rajinder Singh alias Gora, Bittu, Sarbjot Singh, Chirag and Sunil Kumar Lohia. The court has rejected the release application of the accused.
The court has also issued non-bailable warrants against Sarbjot Singh, who is out on bail but has evaded trial. The court also dismissed the applications filed by Kuldeep Singh Kohli seeking discharge.
The court listed the matter for hearing on September 5 to begin hearing on the prosecution’s evidence.
