Sidhu’s incompetence & thurst for self glorification led to Party’s defeat in 2022
Chandigarh: Irked by the recent controversies raked by former PCC chief Navjot singh sidhu many party leaders have called for an urgent need to show the door to Mr. sidhu. The leaders in a joint statement said that “It is time that the congress high command shows the door to former PCC Chief Navjot Singh Sidhu. Even though we respect him as the former chief of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee, his actions often work against the interests of the party as a whole.”
Further adding the leaders said – “His indiscipline in dealing with political matters usually goes against the collective efforts of the Congress Party. This was evident as under his leadership, Congress in Punjab went from winning 78 seats in the 2017 elections to winning a mere 18 seats during the 2022 elections. As the president of Punjab Congress, it was sidhu’s duty to ensure that the party held a strong position in the 2022 elections, a duty in which he failed miserably ” said kulbir singh zira former MLA Zira.
“Navjot Singh Sidhu has had a history of being opposite to the collective stand of the Congress party. The way he acts clearly shows he is not a team player, which always diminishes the efforts of the party and its workers.” Said former MLA Nakodar Navjot singh Dahiya.
“It is essential to remember, Navjot Singh Sidhu was sitting right besides the senior party leadership when the then CM Sardar Charanjit Singh Channi Ji was announced as the CM face for the 2022 elections. But still, instead of standing with the party, he chose his own glorification agenda which led him to do things which hurt the party prospects massively.” Said Inderbir singh bolaria, former MLA Amritsar South.
“Till date, you are focused on self-glorification, you have never supported the party’s agenda. This is something which needs to stop. You could not help the party in a leadership position as the PCC Chief, and now, you are unable to perform as a team player. You have clearly failed as a team captain and a team player.” Said MLA Gurdaspur Barindermeet singh pahra.
“This might be the only incidence in the long history of elections in India that a manifesto was released just two days prior to the elections. This is all because your focus, while being in a position of power and leadership was inclined on settling scores than actually working on the high level position handed to you by the party. Your focus during your leadership was based entirely on your own self growth rather than the growth of the party which hurt us all.” Said Mohit Mohindra
Others who joined these leaders in releasing a statement included Lakhvir singh Lakha, Davinder Singh Ghubaya, Khushbaz Singh Jattana & Amit Vij.
